Canamex Communications Corporation
Founded in 1978, Canamex Communications has a long history of developing products that have contributed to the advancement
of the telecommunications industry and to the general benefit of our society.
During the first 10 years, Canamex Communications acquired a strong professional reputation for the design and delivery of Television
broadcast systems that complied with extraordinary requirements.
Some examples are the development of the first Television fiber optic link, a multi-channel broadcast
antenna still in operation, a complete network linked via satellite and other projects of great
importance. The projects involved the design of Broadcast systems including transmitters, antennas
and coverage, providing installation and start-up. We acquired immeasurable experience.
In 1989, Canamex Communications received a patent for the QUIKTEL system, which informed people
talking on the phone of who was on the other line on hold without interrupting the ongoing
conversation. QUIKTEL was used by Placement Agencies, Distributors with inside sales agents,
Brokers and Companies that wanted to benefit from instant "discreet" messaging.
In 1991, we became involved with wireless text messaging. At one trade show, Motorola was
introducing a new alphanumeric pager. Canamex Communications conceived the idea to use the
existing QUIKTEL product to send messages to the pagers directly from the customers' offices. We
quickly developed QUIKPAGER, the famous keyboard that is still used in Hospitals to send messages
to commercial pagers. We have sold over 68,000 units acquiring a tremendous experience in the
Hospital messaging arena. It is estimated that QUIKPAGER is used in more than 40% of Hospitals in
the USA. QUIKPAGER is also used today by Emergency Dispatch Agencies, Fire Departments,
Government Services and in a long list of other applications.
In 1997, Hospitals requested a product to send messages to onsite pagers rather than to commercial
pagers. As a result, we developed a paging encoder and added a transmitter, offering QUIKPAGER
Wireless for onsite paging applications. This product has been a tremendous success based on many
years of proven reliability. QUIKPAGER Wireless is an excellent stand-alone, onsite paging product in
operation at many Hospitals, Factories, Clinics, Nursing Homes and at many other places.
In 1999, with the proliferation of computers, Canamex Communications received requests from large
Hospitals for onsite paging solutions for high message traffic in applications with hundreds of pagers.
It was time for us to develop a software product.
In 2001, Canamex Communications released QUIKnet, our first software able to send messages to
onsite pagers by connecting to QUIKPAGER Wireless or to the new DigiPager encoder. As a result
from QUIKnet sales, we received valuable feedback from Hospitals regarding extended applications.
We spent many months conceiving an ideal product to comply with an assorted list of features.
PageRouter was born.
In early 2003, we delivered the first PageRouter System able to handle high volume message traffic
achieving extreme reliability. We sold many PageRouter systems to Hospitals proving to have
produced a powerful "message engine" for onsite paging.
In 2005, Canamex Communications conceptualized a new version of PageRouter taking advantage of
the proven "message engine" and from valuable feedback from customers asking for message
management and integration.
Today's PageRouter is a solid product that uses Microsoft .NET technology with Web Services and the
power of an SQL database. In addition, Canamex Communications invented a way to confirm
transmission of messages sent over the air to onsite pagers for which a patent was granted in 2006.
This feature, called Sentinel, is a powerful defense tool for Hospitals against law suits claiming that
critical messages were not transmitted.
We offer today a PageRouter that is, in fact, a Message Management System with an incredible
user-friendly interface providing access to sending messages from telephones, unlimited network
computers, Nurse Call systems and from other sources. PageRouter can send messages to onsite
pagers, commercial pagers, cellular telephones, email addresses and to other PageRouters at remote
locations. PageRouter is an important system to integrate messaging in a Hospital.
We have an ambitious development program on the go with plans to extend the PageRouter use and
benefits beyond the onsite and message routing applications.
Canamex Communications's principal markets are the USA and Canada with plans to extend sales to
Europe and Asia in the coming years. As NAFTA partners, we deliver our products to the USA from our
warehouse and service depot in Buffalo, NY. We take care of trans-border brokerage, erasing the
border between the countries. With Fedex and UPS, we can deliver product literally overnight to any
USA or Canadian Destinations. USA Customers buy from Canamex Communications like buying from
the corner store.
