| Why is paging so beneficial?
Paging is a powerful working tool
to alert people in seconds of emergencies, business events,
machines in trouble, equipment failures, dangerous environments,
phone messages, etc. Paging provides a direct, short and dynamic
form of communication that saves time and money.
What is a Private Paging System?
A Private Paging System provides paging
service within a limited area which varies from 1 to 25 miles
in radius, depending on transmitting power and terrain. A
Private Paging System provides the same level of reliability
as commercial paging service.
What type of pagers can I use?
You can use any combination of numeric
or alphanumeric POCSAG pagers. We can offer you Motorola pagers
of your choice.
Why should I buy a Private Paging System?
If you only need to reach people within
your building, warehouse, factory, industrial area, a small
community, a plant, then your own Paging System will be more
economical than commercial paging service.
Why is a Private Paging System more economical
than commercial paging service?
Once you buy the equipment, you don't ever
have to pay monthly paging service fees.
Is QUIKPAGER paging equipment expensive?
No. QUIKPAGER Wireless of 5 watts with
a range of 1 to 2 miles costs approximately the same as a
modern Pentium III Computer. If you can afford a computer
for your business, you can certainly afford your own basic
paging equipment.
Can my QUIKPAGER System send messages to
Commercial pagers?
Yes. QUIKPAGER Wireless can be programmed
to automatically connect with commercial paging companies
to deliver messages over the telephone.
We are a large Hospital and have two buildings
each of 6 floors in an area of 100 acres. Can QUIKPAGER cover
this area effectively?
Yes. The key is to select the correct transmitting
power.
How efficient is QUIKPAGER compared to commercial
paging service?
QUIKPAGER uses POCSAG, a proven commercial
paging protocol. The operational frequency is in VHF or UHF,
the same as many commercial paging companies use. Your Private
Paging System will have the advantage of transmitting the
signal locally, rather than the signal being received from
a remote antenna location at the paging company.
Will Emergency messages be received as fast
as using a commercial paging company?
Messages will be received much faster.
Using commercial paging, a text message sent from an entry
device, will take approximately 22 seconds to be delivered
over the telephone to the paging company. Then, depending
on how busy the paging network is, the message could take
from 3 to 45 seconds to get to the pager. With your own Private
Paging System, the same text message will only take a few
seconds to get from the entry device to the pager.
Can we page people using any telephone?
Yes. Call QUIKPAGER Wireless from any telephone.
Voice prompts will guide you to enter a short pager ID and
a telephone number or a code to be sent to the pager.
Can we page text messages using the same
equipment we use for commercial pagers?
Yes. Use QUIKPAGER 2400 as stand-alone,
entry keyboard units. You can also use QUIKPAGER Networks
software for your Windows network to page from any workstation.
You can page from any computer using standard paging software.
We are a factory. Can workers be automatically
paged if a machine stops?
Yes. You can use PageAlert modules to page
alerts from monitoring temperature and pressure sensors, doors
opening and closing, etc. PageAlert will trigger paging when
detecting a change on "dry-contact" ports.
Can we stop a machine remotely?
Yes. Call QUIKPAGER and enter the PageControl
module ID and a command code. The signal will be sent over
the air to the PageControl module to stop the machine.
